The Board of the Development Fund for Kentucky and Tennessee and the Foundation for the Memphis and Tennessee Annual Conferences is pleased to announce the continuation of the Development Fund grant program in 2022.  Last year, this program provided 45 grants to churches and ministries in the Memphis and Tennessee Annual Conferences for a total of $362,323.  These grants are intended to aid churches or affiliated Conference entities with building or renovation projects.  The criteria are as follows:

  1. The project must contribute directly to the mission and ministries of making disciples of Jesus Christ and must be consistent with the doctrine and social principles of the United Methodist Book of Discipline.
  2. Grants are made to United Methodist churches and affiliated organizations in the Tennessee/Western Kentucky Annual Conference.
  3. Grants are awarded only as matching grants up to 25% of total project cost. The full grant will not exceed $10,000. Grant funds will not be disbursed until the church or agency has the matching funds available for use.
  4. Grants are non-renewable and may not be utilized for deficit reduction or debt retirement.
