Spring is often the time of year to celebrate the newness of life. Lent takes us on the road to Jerusalem with Jesus…from Ash Wednesday, through the events of Holy Week, to the foot of the cross, and finally to the glory of the Resurrection found in an empty tomb. Spring is a time for new ideas to emerge, new opportunities to explore, new ways of thinking to be considered.

This can also be true for finances in the life of a local church. If your church is getting the itch to try and be more creative with its money, let us help you explore your options. The United Methodist Foundation for the TWKC had a solid year in the rate of return for investors in our portfolio at 13.13% for 2025. The Development Fund for Tennessee/Kentucky, Inc. currently offers 3.75% interest on deposit savings accounts and a 6.25% rate on loans.

In addition, we offer resources and guidance for major gift cultivation, various and unique annuities, estate planning and other planned giving initiatives, donor advised funds and trusts, and capital campaigns. Rev. David Comperry and I are road warriors when it comes to forming and maintaining relationships with local churches, missional entities, and individual clergy and laity. We make house calls!
This past Sunday we were blessed to be a part of the morning worship service at Gallatin FUMC. Rev. Dr. Comperry offered the sermon, I was given the opportunity to offer some details about our ministry, and after the service we met with church leadership.

In March and April we have appointments scheduled in nearly all areas of the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference. We are ready and willing to come meet with your leadership and sync your needs with our resources. Contact our office at 615-259-2008 or visit our website at umftwk.org for more information.

Speaking of new, starting in April you will receive a new communication, the Faith and Foundation eNewsletter. This resource will focus exclusively on the happenings and opportunities available through the United Methodist Foundation and Development Fund for the TWKC, as well as our newest branch, the Martin Methodist Foundation. This additional newsletter will keep you informed on the financial, educational, and relational support we can offer to local churches, missional entities, clergy, and laity…our current interest rates for loans and deposit savings accounts…articles from our team…and impact stories from those who have engaged meaningful collaborations and fruitful outcomes from partnering with us.

The pattern for you to receive our emailed resources will be that on the first of the month the Faith and Foundation eNewsletter will be sent. On the fifteenth of the month the GiftLegacy eNewsletter will arrive. We hope this provides a rhythm of communication that means we do not clog your inboxes unnecessarily, yet the pace keeps you up to date on opportunities and information that could impact your financial needs.

We look forward to hearing from you, and coming to your place of mission and ministry for a visit!

May Grace Abound…
Rev. Dr. David Weatherly,
President/CEO
