The Board of the Development Fund for Kentucky and Tennessee and the Foundation for the Tennessee-Western KY Conference is pleased to announce the establishing of a new grant program. These grants are to aid churches or affiliated Conference entities with building or renovation projects. The criteria are as follows:
- The project must contribute directly to the mission and ministries of making disciples of Jesus Christ and must be consistent with the doctrine and social principles of the United Methodist Book of Discipline.
- Grants are made to United Methodist churches and affiliated organizations in the Tennessee/Western Kentucky Annual Conference.
- Grants are awarded only as matching grants up to 25% of total project cost or $10,000 (whichever is lowest). Grant funds are not disbursed until the church or agency has the match for the grant available for use.
- Grants are non-renewable.
- Funds are not granted for budget deficit reduction or debt.
- Primary consideration will be given to those who have monies invested in either the Development Fund or the Foundation for the Tennessee-Western KY Conference. This criterion is established in order to insure the ongoing capacity for offering grants.
All churches in the current Tennessee-Western KY Conference involved in such projects are invited to apply for a matching grant of up to $10,000. This grant is restricted to aiding churches in building renovations or new building projects. For more information, please contact Philip Jamieson (phil.jamieson@umftwk.org).
