‘I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine. For this reason, I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. (John 16:12-15) This first Sunday after Pentecost is also known as Trinity Sunday.  With the “arrival” of the Holy Spirit last week, we now see the complete revelation of our God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  One thought which stands out for me here is the humility of the Holy Spirit.  Fully God, but not bringing new words of wisdom, only declaring and illuminating what Jesus says.  This is of course also what Jesus does, not pointing to himself, but revealing the truth of his Father.  Can we begin to get a sense of just how important humility ought to be in the life of a Christian?  As they say, if it’s good enough for God… Let the Holy Spirit be at work in you today.  Do a little bragging on Jesus and let his words and actions be seen in your life.  Have a great week
