“Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure” (I John 3:2-3).  Foundation work involves watching investments which implies a lot of speculating about the future which tends to produce some anxiety since nobody truly knows what tomorrow holds.  John reminds us that we don’t even know what we will be as God’s children.  And yet, and yet we are God’s children!  We are God’s children because we have been adopted into the Family through the work of our elder brother, Jesus.  Our hope, our confidence in the future rests alone on Christ.  If you are tempted to be anxious about tomorrow, always remember that you belong to Jesus.  You are a child of God.
