The Reverend Dr. Philip Jamieson, President of The United Methodist Foundation for the Memphis and Tennessee Conferences, announces that the recipients of the Tom and Betty Cloyd Scholarship are Kaitlynn E. Vaughn and Margaret A. Ward.  Kaitlynn is a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and is currently enrolled at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee.  Margaret is a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and is currently enrolled at Boston University School of Theology in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Tom and Betty Cloyd Scholarship Fund was created by Belle Meade United Methodist Church to honor the Cloyds’ ministries through the years.  This fund was placed with the United Methodist Foundation for the Memphis and Tennessee Conferences for investing and distributing one or more scholarships each year.  Mrs. Betty Cloyd continues to be consulted about possible recipients, and Kaitlynn and Margaret were the students chosen this year.  Anyone wishing to honor the late Dr. Tom Cloyd or Mrs. Betty Cloyd may make a contribution to the Foundation (304 S. Perimeter Park Dr., Suite 3, Nashville, TN  37211) at any time with gifts being placed in the Scholarship Fund.  To qualify for this scholarship, an applicant must be a United Methodist in the Tennessee Conference (for a minimum of one year) and enrolled in or accepted by a United Methodist college or university.  To receive more information or to apply for this scholarship for the 2019-2020 academic year, please contact The Reverend Dr. Philip Jamieson at the United Methodist Foundation for the Memphis and Tennessee Conferences, 304 S.
